Job Description

  • Typical Tasks
  • Conduct discovery workshops to identify infrastructure requirements, cluster sizing, and workload migration strategies.
  • Deploy, upgrade, and configure Red Hat OpenShift clusters across bare-metal, virtualized, and public cloud environments.
  • Implement GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD to automate application deployment and cluster configuration.
  • Establish robust cluster monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenShift logging stacks.
  • Document technical cluster architectures, security baselines, and provide hands-on training for client platform teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the end-to-end communication with client stakeholders regarding infrastructure milestones, security requirements, and technical prerequisites.
  • Define OpenShift implementation and migration roadmaps that align with the client’s specific compliance, security, and budget constraints.
  • Support and participate in the successful integration of OpenShift clusters into existing enterprise active directory/IDM, networking, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure the high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and performance of the container platforms to maintain constant application uptime.
  • Standardize container security practices, including network policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and image registry scanning across teams.

Technical Skills

  1. Expertise in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) administration, installation, and lifecycle management.
  2. Proficiency in Kubernetes core concepts, container runtimes (CRI-O), and Software Defined Networking (SDN/OVN).
  3. Advanced knowledge of enterprise Linux administration (RHEL/CoreOS) and fundamental networking (DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
  4. Strong command of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Helm.
  5. Ability to write and debug scripting languages (Bash, Python) and familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton).
